The person behind the pun

I’m a freelance editor with a wealth of experience in proofreading and editing CVs, cover letters, academic papers, literary writing, and articles. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Classics from Trinity College Dublin and a Master of Philosophy in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Oxford. Without really realising it, I spent years as the resident editor among friends and colleagues, so I eventually decided to offer these services more widely. Check out the outline of my process for more insight into the values and techniques that inform my work.

The process behind the pun

I hold myself to the highest standards of editorial and business integrity. I scrutinise documents with a hawk's eye, ridding them of inaccuracies and adapting their tone to my clients' audience and objectives. Most importantly, I seek to empower clients to do this for themselves after our work together is done.

Read it

Before committing to proofreading or editing your work, I’ll ask you for an idea of what you’re after and cast an eye over the documents you send me to confirm that it’s within my remit. I feel strongly about making sure that the people who reach out get the best quality of service available to them, so if I know you can get more for your money elsewhere, I’ll be honest about that.

Levitating Books

Edit it

Once I’ve clarified exactly what I’m able to offer you, and we’ve confirmed that we’re on the same page in terms of expectations, pricing and turnover time, I’ll get started. I’m keenly aware of the importance of tailoring your document to your audience or industry, as well as of customising it so that your expertise and/or personality really shine through. This is of course particularly crucial in the case of job applications. To achieve this, I’ll ask you all the relevant questions after my first read of your document and likely as I work –– what is abundantly clear each time I edit is that, in order for the client to really benefit from my services, there needs to be quite a bit of dialogue throughout.

Re: Edit

I’ll email you the final draft of your document along with: the rationale behind any major changes; any comments I might have on patterns I’ve spotted in your work; and how you might wish to adapt the document for future use. This way, you’re not merely paying for a one-time edit. This will serve as something of a handover document, which will hopefully empower you in your future writing endeavours.

Re-edit

Included in the package is a free re-edit of the document after you’ve had a look at the final draft. If you’re not entirely happy with the result, or if you’d simply like a few things tweaked, I’ll take your feedback on board and make sure the re-edited final document is with you within 1-3 days.

Raha

"Sana transformed both my CV and a number of long answers to questions that I had to submit instead of a cover letter. I'd previously paid £100 for a professional company to work on my CV and extra for a cover letter with the "guarantee" that I would make it through to the next round of a job application within 3 months. That didn't happen. After using reedit I got several interviews and finally secured a job. I was blown away by how much effort Sana put into researching the roles I was applying for and how passionate she was about helping me emphasise all my best attributes."
